AUCHINLECK Talbot assistant boss Allan McLuckie says that his side "need to keep the momentum going" after they notched their third straight cup win.
The Beechwood Park side earned their place in the fourth round of the South Challenge Cup on Saturday, October 12, as they defeated Jeanfield Swifts 3-0.
It was a statement win for Tommy Sloan's side who have bounced back in emphatic fashion after their first league defeat of the season against Largs Thistle last month.
Jeanfield went into the match high on confidence, with the visitors currently sitting atop the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division with an unbeaten record.
But Talbot quickly raced into the lead on Saturday with Connor Boyd and Aiden Wilson notching within the opening half hour.
The scoring was then rounded off in the final minutes of the match with Ewan Thomson marking his return from injury with a penalty to put the icing on the cake.
“It was an excellent performance from start to finish," McLuckie told Talbot's media team after the match.
“We were playing a team that pretty much hasn’t lost a game all season so came down here full of confidence.
“We came away comfortable winners in the end.”
Talbot have no fixture this week coming, before a return to action on October 26 with a Scottish Cup clash against Broxburn Athletic.
The East Ayrshire outfit will now be looking to arrange a friendly fixture, with McLuckie keen to see his side "keep the momentum" of recent weeks going.
