GLENAFTON manager Ryan Caddis has left his role 'by mutual agreement' after less than a year in charge at Loch Park, the club has confirmed.

The announcement comes around 24 hours after the Glens were defeated 2-0 at home by Dalry Thistle in the second round of the South Challenge Cup.

The New Cumnock side are now on the lookout for a fourth permanent gaffer in around 14 months - with the club currently sitting in 11th place in the 16-team West of Scotland Football League Premier Division.

A statement on Sunday read: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Ryan for the considerable time and effort he has devoted during his time at the club and for his contribution in helping the club avoid relegation during the 2023-2024 season."

Former Hearts player Ryan Stevenson resigned from his position at Glenafton Athletic in August 2023 and was replaced by Mark Roberts, who himself stepped down in November.

Caddis took over weeks later and steered the side to league safety before a mixed bag of results at the start of the 2024/25 season saw his brief tenure at the club come to an end.

Glens are without a win in seven games since seeing off St Cadoc's and Darvel in July.

The club also confirmed that assistant manager Darren Miller and coach David Watters will also depart.

Applications are now being invited for the first team manager post and interested candidates are being asked to apply by no later than 1pm on Tuesday, September 17.

Glens' next match is a Scottish Junior Cup second round tie away to Ellon United on Saturday, September 21.
