Cumnock Juniors FC have withdrawn from the newly inaugurated West of Scotland Football League for the season 2020-2021.
In a statement, the club said: “We can confirm that we were one of the 14 clubs to state our intention to withdraw if the vote decided in favour of the season starting on October 24. We can also confirm our vote was to delay the season until current conditions improved.”
The club say the decision is based on two key factors – the health and wellbeing of playing staff and management team and the current legislation which does not allow supporters into Townhead Park.
The Nock said that “the inability to provide basic changing and washing facilities on match days during winter is in our opinion unacceptable” and that they had “to consider the financial implications a potential season without supporters could mean.”
The statement continued: "We would like to thank the management committee of the WOSFL for their hard work and guidance through this extremely difficult time.
"We would like to wish the management committee and all the clubs participating all the best for the season ahead."

Cumnock Juniors FC is also saddened to hear of the passing of Alex Baird.
The club said: “Alex was a long standing and generous supporter of the Nock who assisted the club over many years, not least through his strip sponsorship. He will be sorely missed around Townhead.”
