NEW signing Dan Orsi came off the bench to make his second Glenafton debut on Saturday but even he could not prevent his side slipping to a third consecutive defeat.
The Glens went down 2-0 to Clydebank at Loch Park but manager Craig McEwan remained upbeat that they could turn this slump around with the help of Orsi.
McEwan told the Chronicle: "Dan signed late in the day on Friday and he came off the bench on Saturday to try and give us something different.
"We tried to sign him in the summer but he chose to go to Kilsyth, he knew the manager there so I understood his decision but it didn't work for him.
"From our point of view, we're delighted that it didn't work out for him because we've got ourselves a very, very good player.
"His fond memories of here were winning trophies and trebles and to be honest that seems a lifetime away.
"That's three defeats in a row and it's very much unlike us. It's like winning, it becomes a habit – one that you really don't want.
"I thought Clydebank started better in the first 10 or 15 minutes. Then we came into it and we were the better team. I was quietly confident that we would go on and win but Findlay [Frye]'s red has rocked the apple cart.
"We managed to contain them well and I said to them at half time, 'don't panic, the longer it stays at 1-0 the better.' To be fair, we shot ourselves in the foot inside two minutes and that knocked the stuffing right out us."
