THE Cumnock RFC Youth Section celebrated another fantastic season at their annual Awards Day event.
Despite some ominous weather forecasts the rain held off (mostly) and the sun even broke through the clouds as over 400 players, coaches and supporter enjoyed an afternoon of family touch rugby, BBQ and prize-giving.
This year the club were delighted to have the generous support of Cumnock Community Council, providing the trophies and medals, with Helen McLean and Hugh Murdoch on hand to make the presentations.
The club would also like to thank William Nairn for his fantastic donation of £500 towards the club’s purchase of a defibrillator.
Award winners are shown in the pictures of the day — more pictures in next week’s Chronicle.
Long service to the clubs was also recognised with special presentations to Referee Kenny Roxburgh and to Morton and Una Houston for their great service to the Youth section.
Look out for the first of Cumnock RFC’s Micro Rugby Summer Roadshows this Saturday, June 17 at the YipWorld Fun Day between 11am and 3pm. If you have any 4-8 year olds that would like to give rugby a try — come along and Meet the Micros.
