A GROUP young Cumnock rugby players got the Olympic seal of approval this week.
The boys from Cumnock Rugby Club got a masterclass in kicking from Olympic medalist Mark Bennett.
Ex-Nock star Mark has starred from Scotland over the last two years and the highlight of 2016 came when he picked up the silver medal as part of Team GB's Rugby Sevens side at the Rio Olympics.
The Glasgow Warriors centre dropped in to his old club to help a group of players with their kicking technique.
Mark worked the players through a short fitness session then moved on to cover a number of techniques used when putting foot to ball in the game.
All of the players involved benefited from Mark's expertise and thoroughly enjoyed their session.
Cumnock Rugby Development Manager, Harry Reilly said: "Mark is a tremendous supporter of the club and in particular the younger players. When he is back home for a visit he will invariably offer to come down for a session whether its helping out our Micros, Minis or in this case the Youth players he is always generous with his time.
"We are so proud of what he is achieving with Glasgow Warriors and Scotland and whilst he leads a very busy life he never forgets his roots, the club where it all started and the sense of putting something back in to the game. He's an example to us all".
Cumnock RFC's junior section continues to thrive with training held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
