KELLO Rovers boss Ross Wilson reckons his side will be alright this season after they caused Glenafton all sorts of problems on Saturday.
Rovers lost their Ardagh Glass League Cup tie with the New Cumnock side 3-1, but Wilson reckons he saw enough to suggest his side will be just fine this year.
The new man in the Nithside Park hot seat said: "We have done well in pre season and maybe Saturday's game came just a week too early for us. We had a few players missing through injuries and holidays. One boy had just got home from a holiday in Ibiza the day before the game and you could see it was affecting him.
"We were ??? and we were landing punches on them. Glens will go out and beat teams in their own league this year so even though we lost, I was pleased with the performance and the way we played."
Wilson added: "We're still actively looking to recruit a couple ore players.
"Were maybe looking for at least two more. You've always got to keep moving on and got to see some development. At the moment I'm happy with what I've got. We have seventeen signed up, but you can't count on just seventeen to get you through the season."
The ex-Saltcoats player is keeping his cards close to his chest ahead of the new league campaign. He said: "We'll keep our powder dry just now. The boys have bought into all of the ideas we have brought in both on and off the park.
"As long as we do better than last season that's all you can ask for."
