THE Cumnock U15 girls side played their first away game of 2016 when the team travelled down to Annan Rugby Club where they met a strong side of girls on a blustery day with a heavy pitch.
Despite losing out on the day, the Cumnock girls stuck in and as the game progressed, so did their performance.
As a growing team, their coaches were very pleased with how well their game improved with tries from Cieron Bell, Hazel Macmillan, Chelsea Dunlop, Stephani Quinn and Sarah Jones.
The players player for this week was Chelsea Dunlop who performed admirably in her first outing for the team. Other notable performers on the day were Courtney Graham, Sarah Gilmour, Bethany Leighton, Lauren Ferrans and Abigail Shaw.
The U15's were also accompanied by a few U18 girls who played in a training match with the Annan U18 girls.
The team is growing stronger every week and is always keen to welcome new players to add to the expanding squad. The team has a jam packed fixture list for the remainder of the season and they train on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm until 7.30pm at Auchinleck Auchinleck Synthetic Grass Pitch.
