SAFETY checks were carried out at the former Auchinleck Academy building recently, following damage caused by Storm Bert.
Parts of the building's façade was affected by strong winds last week, with sections of the facings coming loose.

What appeared to be debris from the facings could be seen on the ground on areas of the land that could be accessed by the public.
This led to locals raising concerns that members of the public could be hurt, if action wasn't taken.
However, East Ayrshire Council has since confirmed that checks were carried out on the damaged part of the building, and that weekly inspections are also carried out.
Laurie Graham, the local authority's property support manager, said: "We were notified that there was some damage due to Storm Bert.
"An order was issued to our contractor on November 27 to attend site to remove debris and carry out a check on remaining panels and secure as required.
"I can also advise that weekly visual inspections are carried out, any defects noted are reported to our helpdesk to arrange any necessary repairs."
