THE fabulous Make Catrine Sparkle event returns this Sunday (December 1).
Organised for the first Sunday in December by Catrine Community Council, the event has become an annual favourite for those in the village and beyond.
With large crowds expected at the event throughout the day once again, we've thrown together a handy guide for all the main things to know.
When is the event?
The event runs from 3-8pm on Sunday. The Christmas market village will open at 3pm.
Event timings:
- 3pm- Market village opens
- 4.30pm- Lantern gathering at Lodge St John
- 5pm- Parade begins
- 5.30pm- Welcome and speeches
- 5.45pm- Community awards
- 6pm- Light switch on
- 7pm- Firework display
- 8pm- Event finishes
What will be there?
Various stalls for gifts, games and food will be set up on the land next to Catrine square. Last year there was also a visit from Mauchline's community fire engine.
Is it free?
Yes, it's totally free to see the parade, fireworks and to walk around the market village. Prices for anything purchased within the market village will be signposted.
What will the weather be like?
According to the BBC weather forecast, there is a chance of rain on Sunday evening, so it might be best to wear some waterproofs and shoes capable of walking on the potentially-soggy grass.
More information about the event can be found on the Catrine Community Council Facebook page.
