A CLOSED Cumnock road will re-open later this week following essential maintenance work, Scottish Water has confirmed.
The company has been carrying out work on a section of Auchinleck Road since Tuesday, November 19.
Initially, the closure was only due to be in place until November 25.

However, due to the repair becoming more complex than originally anticipated, the closure was extended.
Scottish Water has now confirmed to the Chronicle that a planned opening date has been set for the road.
All going well, the road will be back to normal from this Friday, November 29.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: “We would like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding while we carried out this essential repair.”
