CAMERON Menzies has discovered his first round opponent in the 2025 World Darts Championship.
The Muirkirk man will face off against Leonard Gates in his opening match of the tournament.
The American could provide a stern test for Cammy, who has played in the tournament once previously - reaching the second round in 2023.
However, Menzies will remain confident that he can navigate the tie having enjoyed his best season on the PDC tour this year.
The 35-year-old has already enjoyed a record breaking season which included his first-ever ranking title in Players Championship 29.
The Muirkirk man also reached a first-ever major tournament quarter-final in this month's World Grand Prix.
Menzies has reached the second round of the World Championship in each of the last two years though will be hoping to extend his run this time around.
And he knows his possible route to doing so after the tournament draw, which was made on Monday, November 25.
Should he best Gates, Menzies will face off against current world number 12 Nathan Aspinall in the second round.
