460 children took part in total, and medals and certificates were presented to the first three individuals of each race and an overall winning team for each race.

Provost Claire Leitch, herself an Auchinleck native, said: “It was excellent to see so many of East Ayrshire’s young people taking part in an outdoor sport, enjoying themselves and having their schoolteachers cheering them on.

"The weather didn’t hold them back and these events continue to showcase the excellent sporting infrastructure that we have in East Ayrshire.”
