THE Auchinleck community has rallied to ensure the village will be lit up in a festive light this year.

Donations from the village's Tesco store, as well as various local businesses and residents, have meant that the Christmas decorations will be up in all their glory this year.

Upcoming events will also be held, with funds going towards the cost of the lights.

These will be a prize bingo night held on November 29 and a crochet and knitting Christmas fair on December 7, both being held at the Boswell Centre.

Speaking about the community support, an Auchinleck Community Council spokesperson said: "Auchinleck Community Council would like to thank Auchinleck Tesco, small businesses and residents for their most generous donations in support of raising funds towards the installation and running of our Christmas lights."
