MSP Elena Whitham has paid tribute to former rock n' roll Provost Jim Todd in the Scottish Parliament.
Todd officially stepped down from the role last month for health reasons after 12 years in the role, with his depute Claire Leitch stepping up as his successor.
He has now been hailed at Holyrood after a motion was submitted by MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley Elena Whitham.
She said: "Thank you again to the rock n' roll Provost and my cousin Jim Todd for everything you've done for our area. I know you'll continue with your hard work as a councillor.
"I submitted a motion to parliament to mark Jim's 12 years and I am pleased it has achieved cross-party support. A testament to his service!"
The motion read: "That the Parliament notes that Provost Jim Todd of East Ayrshire Council is to stand down from his position due to personal circumstances after serving in the role since 2012; thanks Jim for his commitment to his civic role and understands he is admired from people across the political spectrum; recognises that he has connected with his constituents and community groups and has been widely known as the rock n roll Provost”, and wishes Jim the very best for the future.
