RESIDENTS across two East Ayrshire wards are being reminded to cast their vote in the upcoming by-election.
Voting will take place later this week to find a new Doon Valley councillor, as well as a new Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse councillor.
The by-elections were sparked by July’s general election victories in the Kilmarnock and Loudoun and Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock constituencies for then-Labour councillors Lillian Jones and Elaine Stewart.
A vote will now take place on Thursday, November 14 to determine a new councillor for each ward.

Seven candidates are vying for the new councillor spot in Doon Valley, while there are five candidates for the Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse area.
Doon Valley is currently made up of Independent councillor Drew Filson and SNP representative Jennifer Hogg.
Kilmarnock West and Crosshouse consists of Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party member James Adams, and SNP councillors Iain Linton and Douglas Reid.
