TWO talented female apprentices from Persimmon West Scotland have been selected to undertake an Advanced Craft bricklaying course at South Lanarkshire College.
Billie Murray from Cumnock and Chantelle Muir from Ayr were chosen for their outstanding commitment and skill, demonstrated throughout their apprenticeships.
The pair joined Persimmon in 2022 and have since excelled in both the classroom and on building sites.
Persimmon selected three of their current crop of 49 apprentices to take part in the Advanced Craft course, with the two Ayrshire girls being chosen.
The Advanced Craft course is designed to build on the strong foundational skills these apprentices have developed, offering specialised training to broaden their expertise and practical knowledge in bricklaying.
Delighted at the selection, Chantelle Muir, apprentice bricklayer, said: "Being selected for the Advanced Craft course is such an honour.
"I’m eager to refine my skills and bring back what I learn to the team.
"Persimmon has been incredibly supportive, and this opportunity is a huge step forward in my career."
William Smith, regional apprenticeship manager at Persimmon Homes, added: “We are immensely proud of Billie and Chantelle for their dedication to advancing their craft.
"Their selection for this course not only highlights their exceptional talent but also reflects our commitment to fostering the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
“At Persimmon, we’re devoted to creating opportunities for our apprentices to grow and develop.
"Billie and Chantelle’s journey is a testament to what hard work and passion can achieve in our industry.”
