AN UPDATE has been provided on when Cumnock's permanent banking hub is set to open.

We reported last month that the permanent location of the new hub will be at the former home of Freddie Williams bookmaker on the corner of Glaisnock Street, near The Square.

A temporary banking hub has been set up within Cumnock library, to provide services to people in the community.

No official opening date has been set for when the new hub will open.

However, it's been revealed that it will be "early next year" before it is good to go.

A post on the Cumnock Banking Hub Facebook page said that it will be 2025 before the facility is ready to welcome customers.

A community banker service will be provided at the location, which will allow customers to speak about more complicated issues relating to their bank.

Specialist advisors for different banks will be at the hub on different days, although all banks can be serviced there.

They are:

  • Monday: Virgin Money
  • Tuesday: RBS
  • Wednesday: TSB
  • Thursday: Bank of Scotland
  • Friday: Santander

We’re temporarily located in Cumnock library and will move to our permanent home in Glaisnock Street early next year.
