DEDICATED volunteers from a community group in Mauchline cleaned up over 170 bags of rubbish from around the town this weekend.
As part of Mauchline Community Association's (MCA) autumn clean up, 34 volunteers were out and about on Saturday, October 26 to collect the debris.
Six youngsters from East Ayrshire's Police Scotland's youth volunteers got involved, as they also rid the town of tyres, mattresses, plastic and loads of other unwanted items that had been discarded.
Meeting at Centre Stane, which is operated by MCA, volunteers were treated to a hot drink and a roll for their hard work.
Speaking about the excellent efforts, a member of the Centre Stane team said: "34 volunteers including six youths from East Ayrshire PSYV (Police Scotland Volunteers) assisted with our Big Autumn Clean Up 2024.
"Amazing effort from everyone who took the time out of their busy lives to help keep our wee village sparkling.
"We managed to fill three East Ayrshire Council vans with over 170 bags of litter, tyres and loads of other interesting items that were dumped in our countryside."
They added: "A big shout out to everyone in the kitchen who made the hot rolls and tea/coffee for all to enjoy at the end.
"Just imagine what we could have achieved if even more people living in our community took part in this event today."
