AN APPLICATION has been lodged with East Ayrshire Council's planning department to build a four-bedroom house on vacant land in Logan.

The proposals, submitted by JKM Consultancy, would see the new home built across from the Logan centre on Baillie Drive.

If approved, plans would see the grand house built with a spacious private garden close to the boundary fence of the nearby Logan Primary School.

The house would have a huge master bedroom, with an attached dresser room and en-suite.

As well as that, a private garage would be attached with a personal study area above.

A supporting statement with the plans states: "We are aware of a previous application for an adjacent site, Planning Reference 18/0473/PP, which was refused by the Planning Department and overturned by Local Review Body.

"This was due to the site being out-with the Local Plan Settlement Boundary. We would highlight that there weren’t any objections to this application.

"The land is currently used as a dumping area, despite the clients’ best efforts, which include fly tipping of large items and rubbish as well as drug paraphernalia and evidence of alcohol consumption from anti-social behaviour."

The supporting statement included a number of images showing the fly-tipping issues on this land.

It adds: "We believe the precedent has been set for acceptable small-scale development in this locale and although it was refused by the planning service and later approved by LRB albeit under the previous Local Plan we believe this could be repeated.

"The economic benefits and improvements to the area are clear but also affordable housing would be created for the area."
