CUMNOCK'S leisure has announced an extension of its opening hours, after listening to public demand.

Visions Leisure Centre will now open earlier and close later on selected days during the week.

However, the centre will remain closed on Sundays. The Visions team had previously teased that the facility could be opening on a Sunday in the future.

Starting from Monday, October 28, the centre will open from 7am on a Monday and Thursday.

The centre will now open at 9am on a Wednesday instead of 1pm. However, the pool facilities will not be in used until 1pm.

Further changes include opening an hour earlier on a Friday, at 12pm instead of 1pm.

The new centre opening times are:

  • Monday and Thursday: 7am-8.30pm
  • Tuesday: 8.45am-8.30pm
  • Wednesday: 9am-7.30pm
  • Friday: 12pm-8.30pm
  • Saturday: 8am-12.15pm
  • Sunday: Closed

Pool access is restricted at certain points during the day to accommodate swimming lessons.

The centre recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, having been opened back in October 2004.

The facility has been run ever since by Cumnock and District Leisure Group, with members of the original fundraising group still having active roles on the board today.
