A LARGE tree on the grounds of East Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock could soon be removed.
An application has been sent to East Ayrshire Council's (EAC) planning department to determine plans to bring down a large oak tree.
According to the submission, the tree currently sits on the edge of the hospital grounds on Ayr Road and overhangs a number of car par bays.

The tree is regularly inspected, but its condition is declining and removal of the tree is being requested in order to prevent an accident.
If approved, the tree would be replace by two new oak trees.
According to the online proposals, a decision is due to be made by the middle of December.
