UPGRADES are set to be carried out at a problem junction on a section of the A76.
Last year, MSP Elena Whitham and Ballochmyle councillor William Lennox wrote to Amey and Transport Scotland regarding an "accident blackspot" near Catrine.
They were calling for upgrade work to be carried on the A76 junction with the B743, which led to a review being carried out.

Various road traffic incidents have been recorded at the junction over the past few years, with the SNP representatives saying more needed to be done to tackle the issue.
Now Ms Whitham has confirmed that improvements will be carried out at the junction, with work to be completed by the end of the year.
The Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley MSP said: "Since coming into office, I have been campaigning for greater safety measures at the A76 B713 junction.
"Following calls made to Transport Scotland, they have now agreed to the following:
- Amending markings at the junction and altering the hatching on the side road to allow for a wider entry.
- Upgrading the right turn area to be filled with red resin to highlight the potential for turning.
- Installation of solar studs on the right turn area to highlight the road layout.
"It is anticipated these works will be completed by the end of 2024."
Cllr Lennox previously said that residents had voiced their concerns to him about this junction.
He said: “The Catrine road-end junction on the A76 Trunk Road is a notorious local accident blackspot.
“There have been a significant number of Road Traffic Accidents at this location over the years and although the signage etc., has been improved, these incidents persist, and are now happening almost on a weekly basis.
“Several constituents have been in touch recently to see if anything more can be done to improve safety at this location, so I took this up with AMEY SW Trunk Roads who responded to say that they are aware of the issues."
