PERMISSION has been granted for a holiday let caravan to be used in Muirkirk.
Retrospective planning permission was applied for for the static caravan on the village's Smallburn Road.
Approval was granted this week for the plans to go ahead, meaning that developers can be issued with a short-term letting license to be able to house people in the caravan.

According to the application, the owners originally applied for a short-term letting license as they were looking to rent out the spot in the summer months.
After completion of all relevant forms, such as gas, electricity and water, they were then made aware that they must apply for planning permission.
It adds: "We already installed the static caravan in our garden, and have completed all the safety certificates as per the STL license.
"Only now we learn that planning is to be sought after, in order for the license to be issued."
