A TALK looking at the history of Scottish mining villages will take place in Cumnock next week.

Ayrshire is awash with mining history, dating back to the 18th century.

Across the Ayrshire countryside, you can find some of the remains of what was once old communities that no longer exist.

Some of the most famous examples include Glenbuck, Benquhat and Darnconner.
