THE A70 road running through Cumnock will be partially closed next month.
Rail bridge inspection work will be carried out on a section of the road, running from Barrhill Road to the junction for Logan at Glenmuir Road.
Traffic will be cut off in both directions for the duration of the work.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA), which carries out work on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, says this section of road will be closed from around 10pm on November 5 until 6am on November 6.
ARA says the days and times of the works may be dependent upon the weather conditions but the order will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
Traffic will be diverted via the A70 towards Muirkirk, before joining the B743 to Mauchline, and then onto the A76 back towards Cumnock and re-joining the A70 in the town, and vice versa.
More information can be found on the Ayrshire Roads Alliance website.
