LOCAL motorcyclists are hosting a special show in Mauchline in support of a youngster with a life-limiting illness.

Hillbillies Motor Cycle Club will host a charity race night next month, and are aiming to pull in as many donations as they can.

The club is well-known for supporting a range of good causes across the area, including their annual Easter egg ride in March.

This time, support will go to a two-year-old from Glasgow who has a rare chromosome mutation, meaning she has 21 missing genes.

According to a fund-raising page set up in support of Minnie Granger, she has a serious gene mutation meaning that more sodium is reaching her brain than should be, resulting in loss of functions, which makes it a life-limiting illness.

The club is now desperate to do what they can to support the Granger family, and give Minnie the standard of living she deserves.

More than £20,000 has already been raised to support the family, with a charity race night now being held at Mauchline Club on Friday, November 29 from 7pm.

Entry for the night costs £5 and will include one ticket to a prize raffle draw, as well as a buffet.

A spokesperson for the club said: "Minnie is a two-year-old little girl who was born with an extremely rare chromosome mutation and 21 missing genes.

"She is the only person in the world with this gene and chromosome mutation.

"Her condition causes her to have life-limiting severe epilepsy which causes brain damage. She can have up to 34 seizures a day."

"Our goal for the race night is to help raise awareness and funds to help Minnie and her family give Minnie a safe space at home she truly needs and, more importantly, deserves.

"We would be very grateful for any prize donations you could make towards our event and you would be more than welcome to join us on the night.

"If you would like to attend, tickets are £5 and can be bought on the door."
