DUMFRIES House will be in the spotlight on Wednesday night, as it features on a popular BBC One programme.

The One Show carried out filming at the estate earlier this year, focusing on The King's Foundation's Future Textiles programme.

It celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, having been introduced as part of a plan to reintroduce skills and trades that were dying out in modern society.

The episode will be on BBC One.The episode will be on BBC One. (Image: The King's Foundation) Filming took place during The King's recent visit to Dumfries House, where he joined Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner to learn about a violence reduction scheme.

The One Show's episode will air this evening (October 9) from 7pm and will feature interviews with graduates who have taken part in the textile education courses.

Since the course's introduction, more than 7,000 people have benefitted.

The scheme offers a range of courses from weekly sewing and knitting groups, to intensive programmes producing a ready to wear collection.
