ESSENTIAL bridge works due to be carried out near Sanquhar last month have been rescheduled for between October and November.
Roads maintenance company Amey has plans to carry out the work at Mennock.
Bridge expansion joint replacement work will be carried out, with roadworks in place on a section of the A76.

Work will be carried out from Monday, October 28 until Saturday, November 2 between 8pm and 6am each night.
The work will be carried out through the use of overnight temporary traffic lights. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.

Amey adds that all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
The scheme aims to improve the condition and safety of the carriageway structures and reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
