PROVOST Jim Todd has handed over a cheque to charity on behalf of East Ayrshire Council after two years of support.
Back in 2022, MND Scotland was chosen as the council's charity to support and to help develop awareness of the condition.
Over the last two years, the provost has been organising and attending events which helped to increase awareness of MND and raise money that will now be used by the charity to provide care and support to people affected by Motor Neuron Disease, as well as funding vital research into finding a cure.
Jim Todd held over a wonderful sum of £10,746 to the charity.
Christine Clark from MND Scotland visited East Ayrshire Council headquarters to accept the donation.
Provost Todd said: “I was very pleased to hand over the money raised as I know that MND Scotland will put it to very good use in helping to find a cure for this cruel and devastating disease, and to support the families who are living with it.
"The charity’s mission is to ‘make time count’ for people who are living with MND and I hope that we have gone some way to helping them with this aim.
“I am extremely grateful to everyone who has donated over the last two years and above all, I hope that we have managed to spread awareness of MND and how anyone affected by it can receive the support they need.”
