A POPULAR music event held annually in Mauchline is returning this year in support of disadvantaged children.
Over the years, TomFest has raised in excess of £25,000 for various charities, including Alzheimer Scotland, Foundation Scotland, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Parkinson’s UK, Crosshouse Hospital Wellness Suite and Ayrshire Kids Christmas Toy Appeal.
Festival organiser, Tom Murray, has been on a selfless mission to help as many people as he can, since launching the event in 2016.
The idea was born when Tom was asked to initially help out for Alzheimer's Scotland, before more charities got in touch and it snowballed into the successful event that it is today.
The concert brings people from across Ayrshire to Mauchline as they enjoy a mix of music from live bands - with the 2022 event also including a marriage proposal.
While nobody is guaranteed to be getting down on one knee in 2024, a jam-packed evening of performances is certain on October 12 at Mauchline Club.
This year's event will aim to help youngsters in the area in the run-up to Christmas.
Tom Said: "To date we have raised more than £25,200 for our charities.
"The event is sponsored this year by Ayrshire company, Land Energy Girvan.
"This year, once more, we have partnered with Ayrshire Kids Christmas Toy Appeal (AKCTA), to raise funds for children and teenagers whose parents cannot afford toys, clothing and food at Christmas.
"AKCTA take referrals from social work, Women’s Aid, primary and secondary schools, nurseries, health visitors and other agencies."
Tom added: "The funds raised from TF24! will go towards buying the neediest children clothing, footwear, winter jackets and food.
"Due to the cost-of-living crisis AKCTA expect that they will receive well over 1,000 referrals and visits this year.
"We are super proud that our event will go some way to ensuring that this Christmas that the neediest Ayrshire children will have a present to open."
Tickets for this year's event have sold out already, given the growing popularity of the show over the years.
