A CUMNOCK restaurant has made a plea to the public to "use us or lose us".

The Clydesdale eatery on The Square has made the decision to reduce its opening hours to the weekend only moving forward.

Having taken over the former bank building last year,  Leisa Hall and partner Stevie Hooper-Sanders opened to stylish Mediterranean-style restaurant in November.

The building had been vacant since the bank closed around seven years ago, but tireless work went into transforming the establishment, while keeping some of its original bank features.

An update from the owners this week announced that opening times would now be limited to a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"This decision has not been made lightly and is really difficult for us but we simply can not sustain the wages and bills that we are incurring when we are not busy.

"Unfortunately we have got to that point.

The restaurant had been previously only been closed on a Monday, before making another change to the current hours.
