HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid to "two perfect angels" following a fatal crash between Catrine and Auchinleck earlier this week.
Rebecca Hill, 32, and her six-year-old daughter Arianna Aliu tragically lost their lives in the accident on the A76 on Tuesday evening.
Arianna's father and Rebecca's partner, as well as Rebecca's sister, have been among those leading the tributes online to the young mum and child.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the smash around 5pm on Tuesday, with the road being closed for roughly seven hours.
Arianna was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, while Rebecca was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died a short time later.
Arianna's devastated dad posted online that he was "broken", adding that he will "be the strongest man for my other girls".
Rebecca's sister, Aimee, paid an emotional tribute to "the best mum there ever was" and her "little best friend".
She said: "On Tuesday night I lost my big sister and my little best friend in a matter of seconds.
"I can’t express the pain we are going through as a family. My sister lived for my nieces and I hope we can do her proud with Ellie and Zahra.
"She was the best mum there ever was and we are going to be so lost without her. I would do anything to trade places with them or to have one more sleepover with my darling girl.
"Saying goodbye to the most two perfect angels will be a feeling that will never leave me.
"I’m just sorry I couldn’t have saved you both.
"My only regret in life will be not telling you how much I loved you both enough."
Floral tributes have also been left at the scene of the crash.
A note attached to one of the bouquets says: "Always the brightest stars in my eyes.
"Sleep tight. Love yous forever".
Pictures, drawings and a teddy were also left in memory of the pair.
Social media was awash with tributes from people across the country who were caught up in the emotion of learning about the tragic deaths.
One woman said: "Rebecca was a beautiful girl, inside and out.
"You were a true angel and you and your beautiful daughter will be missed by all."
Another said: "This breaks my heart!
"My thoughts and love are with the family and friends of these two beautiful souls, and the first responders.
"This tragic news certainly made me hug my own six-year-old that bit tighter tonight."
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information about the incident to come forward.
Inspector Kenny Malaney said “Our thoughts are with the everyone affected by this tragic incident at this extremely difficult time. Specialist officers are assisting Rebecca and Arianna's family.
"We would like to thank the members of the public that stopped to help and made the call to the emergency services.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or may have been in the area at the time, to contact us.
"I am also keen to speak to anyone who have may dashcam footage showing the [white Volkswagen] Passat prior to the crash.
“Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 2596 of September 24, 2024.”
