A SECTION of the A76 between Auchinleck and Mauchline is set to remain closed "for some time", according to Traffic Scotland.
We reported how the he road has been closed since around 5pm this evening (September 24) following an apparent crash on a section of the road close to the B713 junction for Catrine.
What appeared to be air ambulances could be seen parked in a nearby field.
Police confirmed on social media that the road had been closed due to a crash, and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Traffic Scotland has this evening issued an update regarding the closure.
It said: "The A76 remains closed in both directions at Mauchline due to a road traffic incident and will be for some time.
"Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time and allow extra time for their journey."
It's not yet known the condition of anyone involved in the apparent incident.
