A LOCAL charity hero is set to put on two events next month to support two great causes.
Sharon King, who is originally from Cumnock, is an ambassador for Ayrshire Cancer Support, and has held numerous events to support a range of charities.
Previous work includes a Burns supper, charity raffle nights and various music events.
On October 6 from 2-6pm, Sharon will be hosting a Freddie Mercury-themed event at the Cumnock Juniors social club, with all proceeds going towards Ayrshire Cancer Support.
Tickets cost £6 and can be bought on the day.
Not resting there, later in the month, Sharon will be part of the team hosting a Halloween evening at The Nithsdale hut in Sanquhar, with performances from local band, By Proxy.
Tickets for this night cost £6 and can be purchased on the night.
Sharon has raised thousands of pounds for charity over the years, but admits it's becoming increasingly difficult to draw in raffle prizes for these types of events.
She said: "Local band By_Proxy will be playing at a Halloween special with all proceeds going to the Alexandria Unit (Palliative Care) in Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary.
"As times are hard, I am struggling for raffle prizes.
"My employer Browns Food Group have kindly agreed to sponsor both events again and will be supplying their Kilted Sausages and New Mexican Hotdogs at the intervals."
