A major closure of a section of the A70 has been cancelled for this weekend, roads maintenance crews have said.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA), which carries out work on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, has been carrying out carriageway resurfacing work on a section of the A70 near Lugar.
Work has been carried out this week using temporary traffic management and a convoy system.
A full closure of a section of the road close to the entrance to Logan was due to be in place this weekend, but ARA has said this has now been cancelled because work is ahead of schedule.
The closure was due to be in place from 8am until 8pm on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.
ARA says there will now only be a closure affecting the Glenmuir Road junction of the A70 on Saturday, August 31.

Those travelling to and from Logan on Saturday will have to use the back road to Craigens via Loganhill Road and Craigens Road to access Cumnock for the duration of the closure.
The A70 is set to be open on Saturday and Sunday, with the Glenmuir Road junction to be open on Sunday.
