A Cumnock girl became one of the leading faces in the battle to save 700 jobs at the Diageo plant in Kilmarnock in 2009. Model Lisa Cunningham took the campaign to Holyrood in September as well as joining a protest march in London.

Cumnock Juniors held a raffle at their 2009 Buffet Dance in the Royal Hotel and raised a fantastic £210. The money was donated to Bute House, and pictured above are players Stevie Murray, Johnny McMillan and Stevie Moore presenting the cheque to residents and staff.
