A Mauchline-based childminder has been praised by kids and parents for her caring attitude in a new inspection report.

The Care Inspectorate recently visited Room to Grow childminder, which is based in Mauchline and is run by Jamie Allen.

The watchdog found that parents felt valued and that children were happy and engaged throughout our visit and enjoyed their space.

The report included comments from parents and kids who attend the service, praising the safe environment that has been created.

One parent told inspectors: "Jamie has fostered an environment that is loving and caring. She makes each of my kids feel included and listened to."

While one youngster said: "Jamie is fun, caring and kind-hearted. She cares about me and I feel safe with her."

The childminder engaged in pleasant conversations which created a positive, sociable mealtime experience, according to inspectors.

The service has a focus on learning outdoors and experiencing nature as much as possible.

This was something that parents enjoyed for their children, with another parent adding: "My child has been involved in many activities such as gardening, going for walks, arts and crafts, reading books and going to play groups."

The facility's environment was described as "warm, bright and homely".

One main area for improvement was highlighted in the otherwise positive report, which related to the childminder submitting an update of changes made to their property, as well as ensuring that an adult living at the property undergoes suitability checks in line with legislation.

Speaking about Jamie, the report concluded with comments from parents saying: "Jamie is an amazing childminder, I trust her with my child. She always has a lot of time for the kids."

While another parent added: "She is reliable and highly trustworthy. I know that my kids are safe with her and they love going."
