Two men have been arrested after a break-in at a shop in Muirkirk this morning.
The incident happened at around 3.30am today (August 22) when the Key Store on Main Street was targeted.
Shop owner, Naveed, is now urging locals to be vigilant after his store was broken into.
Officers were swift to respond to the incident, with two men being tracked down and arrested in connection.
Naveed said: "I really just want people to be aware and make sure they're taking all the necessary safety measures.
"We've been here for about 11 years and we've never had anything like this happen before, but it just goes to show something like this can happen at any time."
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Around 3.30am on Thursday, 22 August, 2024, police received a report of a break-in at a commercial premises in Main Street, Muirkirk.
"Following inquiries, two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
