Parts of Mauchline have been targeted with a spate of vandalism during the night, which police are now investigating.

Residents woke up this morning to find that vehicles, buildings and personal property had been hit with spray paint during the night.

Police are specifically investigating incidents Burngrange Lane and Loch Road, with some other areas believed to have been targeted.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of vandalism to properties in the Burngrange Lane area and to vehicles in the Loch Road area of Mauchline. Enquiries are ongoing.”

East Ayrshire Council has a dedicated online platform where locals can report incidents of vandalism and graffiti.

The system can be access via the main page of the East Ayrshire Council website, with up to 15 different issues that you can report.

Ballochmyle councillor, Alyson Simmons said she has reported the issue to East Ayrshire Council to have the graffiti removed as soon as possible.
