The skies over Cumnock and the surrounding areas were treated to a show of the Northern Lights on Monday night.
Auroras are the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by the solar wind, and can take many forms and colours.
Once again, keen photographers were quick to snap a shot of the rare phenomenon overhead.
We put out a call for Chronicle readers to send in their best pictures, and you didn't disappoint.
We were sent images from the likes of Dalmellington, Logan, Sorn and New Cumnock.
