Train times between Auchinleck and Glasgow will continue to be reduced until at least the end of the month in a row over pay.

This is due to fewer drivers making themselves available for rest day working, as is their contractual right, while pay talks are ongoing with the trade union ASLEF.

Trains have been reduced between the New Cumnock and Auchinleck line and Glasgow, meaning travellers only have one train option on a Sunday, and reduced options during the week.

ScotRail has said that the reduced timetable is set to be in place until at least August 30.

For Sundays up to and including 25 August, you are advised to check your journey on the day of travel.

The current timetable for the area is:

First trains (midweek):

  • 6.34am Auchinleck to Glasgow
  • 7.27am New Cumnock to Glasgow
  • 7.07am Glasgow to Kilmarnock and Carlisle (via Auchinleck and New Cumnock)

Last trains (midweek):

  • 7.27pm Auchinleck to Glasgow (7.18pm New Cumnock)
  • 10.32pm Kilmarnock to Glasgow
  • 7.13pm Glasgow to Auchinleck
  • 11.14pm Glasgow to Kilmarnock
