A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash near to the Howford Bridge this afternoon (August 1).

Police were alerted to the incident just before 12pm, when it was believed the car had entered a ditch.

Officers were seen diverting traffic safely around the incident, while emergency services crews attended.

One woman was then taken to Crosshouse Hospital as a safety measure.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a one-car crash on the A76 between Mauchline and Auchinleck around 11.50am on Thursday, 1 August, 2024.

“Emergency services attended and one woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock as a precaution.”
