Speed-calming measures are set to be introduced to a troubled section of road near the East and South Ayrshire border, according to the local MSP.
Elena Whitham, MSP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley said she had been contacted by residents of Failford raising concerns about speeding motorists on the B743.
Speeding on the stretch of road between Mossblown and Mauchline has been a long-standing issue for people living in the small settlement, with Ms Whitham meeting with Ayrshire Roads Alliance, Police Scotland and local constituents to discuss residents' concerns.
Flashing slow signs are set to be installed in the coming months, with surveys to be carried out to see whether further work will be required in the future.
Ms Whitham said: "Constituents have contacted me about dangerous driving in the village of Failford.
"Many drivers are not adhering to the 30mph speed limit. This has resulted in several incidents over the years.
"Today I held a meeting with constituents, Police Scotland, and the Ayrshire Roads Alliance to discuss possible solutions.
"Flashing slow signs and a high friction surface are scheduled for the coming months. We also discussed other solutions that may be implemented following surveys and consultations.
"I look forward to sharing updates in due course.
"In the meantime please respect the village and stick to 30mph when travelling through."
