An action-packed line-up has been revealed for an upcoming fun day in Cumnock.
Woodroad Park and Leisure Group will be bringing back its fun day back in August as part of an attempt to draw people back to the park.
The group, in conjunction with Cumnock Action Plan 2022 and beyond, have plans to bring people and the families back to the park, and upgrade the facilities on offer through time.
Some plans include the possibility of bringing the tennis courts back, and upgrading the playpark facilities.
The most immediate thing happening at the park is a fun day that will take place from 12-4pm on Sunday, August 18.
Wristbands can be bought on the day for £2 which will allow unlimited access on the 10ft double slide, disco run obstacle course, bouncy castle and disco dome.
Also included on the day will be:
- Treasure hunt
- Vintage vehicles
- Faerie trail
- Fire engines
- STEM activities
- Bicycles
- Nature activities
The group are still looking for organisations or businesses that would like to have a stall on the day to promote what they do.
The new group is being chaired by Cumnock and New Cumnock Councillor Neill Watts, who has been vocal about his hopes of improving the vision of Woodroad Park for a long time.
Cllr Watts said: "This year we need to have something extra like a bouncy castle or something like that just to draw people.
"The whole idea of days like these are to get people back to the Woodroad and showing potential investors that there is a desire for the area to be used."
More information about this event, and other things happening at the park, will be posted on the Woodroad Park & Leisure Group Facebook page.
