Auchinleck Talbot legend Craig McCracken has left the club after an eight-year spell full of memories.

McCracken joined Talbot in 2016, having previously had time at Ayr United and coming through the ranks at Somerset Park.

The club announced on Sunday that the 28-year-old had been put on the transfer list at his own request - and the following day revealed he had signed for Lowland League side Linlithgow Rose.

McCracken won it all during his time with Tommy Sloan's men, and scored some massive goals along the way.

None will live longer in the memories of Talbot supporters than his winner against Ayr United in the Scottish Cup in 2019.

He also scored the winning goal in the 2018 Scottish Junior Cup final in the dying moments against Hurlford, as Talbot won 3-2 at Rugby Park.

Paying tribute to McCracken, a Talbot spokesperson said: "We can confirm the transfer of Craig McCracken to Lowland League side Linlithgow Rose.

"Craig departs Talbot after 8 years featuring over 200 times, scoring 39 goals, and creating some of the greatest moments in our clubs history.

"We thank Craig for his invaluable service and for the memories that will live with the club and our fans forever.

"Everyone at Talbot wishes Craig all the health and success in the next step in his career."
