A section of the A76 near Cumnock will close next week for resurfacing work to be carried out.
Roads maintenance company, Amey, will work on a section of the road south of the Dettingen Roundabout on the bypass towards the Skerrington Roundabout.
Work will take place from 7pm on Monday, August 5 until 6am on Tuesday, August 6 and again from 7pm on Tuesday, August 6 until Wednesday, August 7.
A full closure will be in place while work is carried out.
Signed diversions will be in place as follows:
- Northbound- Traffic will leave the A76 at Skerrington Roundabout, take the third exit onto the B7083 Glaisnock Road and Glaisnock Street, then turn left onto the B7046 Ayr Road. Traffic will then continue to the A70 to re-join the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout.
- Southbound- Traffic will follow the same diversion in the opposite direction.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
Amey says that work is dependant on weather conditions and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
