A Cumnock charity hero has been presented with a motion given to the Scottish Parliament by his MSP following an incredible award win.

Lochlan Murdoch launched the charity, Lochlan's Legacy, alongside his mum Lesley in 2020, to raise awareness of Type 1 Diabetes, which he was diagnosed with at a young age.

Thanks to all of his effort, Lochlan was award the 'Teenager of Courage' prize at the Pride of Scotland awards back in May.

Some of Lochlan's work over the years has included walking from all Scottish Premiership football grounds in 2020 to raise money for charity, and delivering speeches and educating people about the condition.

At the time Lochlan's mum, Lesley, said: "The decision was made because of all the work he's done with the charity and stuff in the last few years.

"The night was such an unbelievable experience and Lochlan has just been over the moon about the whole thing.

"It was just an amazing night filled with worthy winners."

To pay homage to Lochlan, Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley MSP, Elena Whitham submitted a motion to the Scottish Parliament shortly after Lochlan's award win, recognising the work the teenager has put in over the years.

Ms Whitham met up with Lochlan recently to hear more about his charity work, and present him with a copy of the motion.
