A popular pub and restaurant in Auchinleck is set to be remarketed with a lower asking price.

The Boswell Arms, one of the oldest businesses in the area, was first listed for sale almost two years ago, when a listing by Christie & Co, Glasgow was posted on Rightmove.

At that time, the pub and restaurant had an asking price of £410,000, but that was later brought down to £395,000.

The pub is highly popular with Auchinleck Talbot fans, not least because of its location little more than a goal kick away from Beechwood Park, as well as with locals from across the village.

Now, the pub is to be marketed by luxury property agent Montgreenan Property Group.

According to a post on the group's Facebook page, offers are now being sought of more than £375,000.

Included in the sale is a three-bedroom house for the new owners, as well as a private garden and driveway, which has the potential to be transformed into a beer garden with relevant planning permission.

The current owners have been at the helm for over 20 years, but they are now looking forward to a life away from the hospitality trade.

They recently thanked the public for all their support over the years, saying: “We have owned the Boswell Arms for 23 successful years and feel now it's the time to pass it onto another couple or family to keep it moving forward and carry on the community spirit of a local village pub/restaurant which we have built up over the years.

“We’ve had amazing support from locals and we hope the new owners take it on and have as many years of success as we have been fortunate to have.”
