Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise is on the lookout for anyone to donate used football boots.

The club, which offers a wide range of community activities, from inclusive sport programmes to football sessions for all ages, is looking to support people who may not have a pair of boots.

The eco-friendly approach is encouraging anyone who might be able to rehome a pair of their boots to drop them into Townhead Park or message the Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise Facebook page to arrange a time.

The Townhead Park pitch has recently re-laid ahead of the new season, thanks to support from various funding boosts.

Renovations were completed, to FIFA standards, thanks to £127,212.40 from a UK Government and Scottish FA fund, more than £44,000 from East Ayrshire Council's renewable energy fund and £10,000 of CJCE's own funding.

The upgrade work was completed at the start of the month, when the pitch was then inspected for its FIFA Pro certificate.

According to the club's application for funding, the recommended lifespan for a FIFA quality pitch is eight years.
